Stinking Narratives: Geopolitics as Means of Dehumanization
In this video we further address the problem of somewhat sadomasochist nature of “alternative narratives” about international politics that are based on geopolitical interpretation and uncritical enmity towards the West – coming, ironically, almost entirely from the Westerners themselves.
As a basis for discussion we use some insights of Montenegrian author Konstantin Kilibarda regarding Western Leftists’ attempts to divine the meaning of war in Yugoslavia. We conclude that geopolitical explanations as a rule tend to simplify the profoundity of history down to the level of imbeciles and, to make matters even worse, dehumanize the whole peoples and nations with not so much as snapping one’s fingers.
We illustrate the point by quoting British author Tom Secker’s detailed refutation of previous KT video essay, concerning his ill conceived attempt to explain the Yugoslav war.
In the final analysis we must note that most of the “politics of compassion” coming from the Left/Alt Media is only the reverse of the imperialism they supposedly denounce.
