Paragons of Subhumanity: On Post-birth Abortion and Other Merry Subjects

A long winded discussion between yours truly and Deirdre of Luminar Podcast initiated by academic advocacy of infanticide or, as authors of 2012 article “After-birth abortion: why should the baby live?” we use as the starting point call it: after-birth abortion.

However, and not surprisingly, this podcast covers much more than this peculiar form of high brow nihilism.

Discussion touches upon, among other things:

problem of person and the reality of soul, Christianity and paganism, Hegel and the  philosophy of absolute subject, posthumanism, euthanasia, abortion and vulnerability of women, reaction from the Right, impossibility of traditionalist revolution and dangers stemming thereof, Thomas Aquinas, Plato, Aristotle, Anaxagoras, science and science fiction, Alexander Dugin, resurgence of history after its supposed end in liberal utopia, forgiveness, Down syndrome

and much, much more.

Basic Notions of Metaphysics: Friendship

It can appear that having a buddy or two doesn’t make one all too metaphysical. Well, not according to Aristotle and with him, more or less, the whole of metaphysical tradition. Friendship – Philia – is an ontological mood disclosing far more than meets the eye, the fact that is all to eagerly forgotten in our day and age; and this forgetfulness of what lies in the background of the basic form of inter-human relations bear grave consequences – even as deprived as the choice of nothingness over Being. Join KT in taking a peek behind the veil of an average day in our average lives to glimpse not so average metaphysical and ethical abyss casually obscured by it.

Theosophism: Rene Guenon’s Cut at the Roots of Modern Pseudoreligions

Rene Guenon’s book Theosophism: A History of Pseudo-Religion is more than just a demolition of 19th Century quack religion: it is, as our friend Deirdre of Luminar Podcast demonstrates in this video, a critique of some fundamental principles modern people take to be absolute truths – the uneasy fact that Theosophism was, and in certain circles still is, quite an adequate religion for people who fancy themselves world leaders.

Deprivation and Depravity: The Difference Between Traditional and Modern Notions of Evil

In this podcast we inspect the differences between traditional and modern understanding of evil as metaphysical notion; we point out the  crucial difference in mentality displayed by this differentiation – the one considering man’s place in the world.

It is customarily to take the traditional notion of Evil as corruption of Good, as naive, not realistic enough or plain childish.

We argue that this belief is a tell tale sign of modernity coming to blows with its historical ancestry, because this idea dawns only when attempt is being made to understand evil as a real, positive, principle, i.e. in itself, as opposed to trying to understand it on the basis of the reality of Good, whose privation it in fact is.

Through some examples, a bit of analysis and even an anecdote or two, we point out how dangerous, vain and wrong headed this belief is.

Basic Notions of Metaphysics: the Being

Back to philosophy. In this podcast we investigate probably the most fundamental notion of philosophy: that of Being. We base our disscussion on original Parmenides’ disclosure of Being and its congeniality with thinking and the truth. Also we point out some historically important notions of Being, both those that follow and those that deviate from this ancient insight of the “path of true inquiry” as Parmenides called it.

Candles in the Wind: On Religion and Belonging

The question of religion in relation to where one is from used to be not a metaphysical but rather a customs officer’s one. Nowadays, things seem to have changed. As numerous KT readers seem to be troubled by this relationship, we’ll attempt to throw some light on it – just a candle light, though. Don’t expect too much.

In addition, we talk about Eastern European peculiarities and overall historical situation; also we talk about misguided internet evangelists and Alt Righters.

System Shock: Alternative Media, Censorship and Systematization

We’re taking a brief look back into the world of alternative media, reason being recent wave of removing some alt media content creators from social networks and hosting platforms.

We argue that, although ideological censorship is omnipresent and indiscriminate – if you dare to discriminate, of course – taking down of alternative media would be not only small loss, but quite an opportunity for their creators to regain their grip on reality.

Alt media are text book example of the creation of virtual identities that are defended with almost servo mechanism efficiency by their owners, as we demonstrate with some examples from personal experience in this shady, virtual space.

Also, we point out the dialectical fulfillment both ideological mainstream and its Russian influenced alternative find in their hateful embrace.

We conclude with some remarks in “what’s to be done?” department, pointing out to real life challenges we can take on which are far more difficult and, consequently, fulfilling, to oppose the mental engineering we’re all being exposed to.

Basic Notions of Metaphysics: Individuum

In this podcast we provide an exposition of one of the often used, but not always fully explained, metaphysical concepts – that of ‘individuum’. We point out the difference between using this notion as fundamentally a political one as opposed to its, we would argue: proper, use as fundamentally metaphysical concept.

And, we throw some Alexander Dugin in the mix, just for the right flavor …

Irish Troubles 2.0: A Discussion With Deirdre of Luminar Podcast

Kali Tribune is proud to present the first entry into podcasting universe of our Irish friend Deirdre and her newly setup Luminar Podcast. In this talk we cover Irish repeal of 8th Constitutional amendment, i.e. what is commonly being called “abortion referendum” and questions stemming thereof: sustainable development and technocratic micromanagement in Ireland, the rejection of history and continuity of life, unique position of Ireland in EU project and other not so happy subjects.

Not to be missed. You don’t get to hear women’s voice on KT that often, after all. Let alone with Donegal accent …
